Focusing on life 52 photos weeks 7 and 8

52 week badge

Hi Y'all,

I am combining both weeks 7 & 8, because I was out of town for week 7 and did not have a chance to get a post done before I left.
Week 7 our prompt was to take photo's of flowers.  In Alabama where I live it was not hard to see flowers all around me.  The Tulip Magnolia's are blooming along with other blooming trees and bushes.  I was on my way to the store and realized that I have not taken a picture yet, even though my yard is full of blooming plants.  So I was approaching an intersection and there on the corner was this beautiful Tulip Magnolia tree.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, that day.

For week 8 I took the same photo as above and played with it in pic monkey and here is how my Monochromatic photo turned out.

First I turned it into a black and white then I played around with the Cinerama setting.

I apologize for the short post, but I am sick with the crud and it is taking all I have just to do this post and then do one more for the Freeform Challenge.  If you want to see what everyone is taking photos of in Monochromatic fashion head on over to Sally Russick's blog and check them out.

Happy beading Y'all,
Therese

  4. It's amazing the different feel of the photos. The first reminds me of spring and new blooms. The second looks like a winterscape. The blooms are almost like snow.

I hope you feel better. We've had that crud going around and it is no fun. :(

  7. Feel better Therese! Wonderful photo ... we have one of these trees in our front yard, and I can't wait for it to start blooming. Funny how in color my eye goes directly to the blooms, but in black and white my eye follows the branches. It really does change your perspective!

  8. It is interesting how the blossoms read as snow....or maybe I just have snow and winter on the brain.

  15. I love magnolias. So gorgeous in full bloom. Your B&W shot is so old fashioned looking. I've got the same crud so I empathize.
