Hi Y'all,
Wow can you believe it is the end of October already! It seems like the older I get the faster the years go by. Christine and I have been having a great time creating with our gifted stash, here is what I picked for October...
The resin rose, mine is red and Christine's is turquoise, and some 14 mm yellow Fire Agate.
Here is what I made...
I have not just strung a necklace in a while and these beautiful 14 mm Fire Agate beads just want to be in a simple strung necklace. I paired them up with 10 mm yellow Agate and 4 mm Carnelian with copper findings. I like all the warm colors in this piece it reminds me of fall leaves.
I had two of the 14 mm beads left so I took some 20 gauge silver wire and made a pair of earrings. I am trying to do better with the wire wrapping, but still not there.
I thought long and hard on the rose pendant. I wanted to put it on something more then just a chain, but what type of rope did I want to bead. I started with a CRAW rope but then I was not feeling it, so I ripped it out. Then I started a peyote rope, but nah. Then I thought about Herringbone spiral, but I just did that for my last challenge, so I went to Russian spiral and was satisfied. I had some 3x4mm red roundels and some 3 mm AB clear bicones and did a little decorative section on each side of the pendant area. I used the few crystals I had left from the decorative area and used them in the bail.
Please go by Christine's blog and see what she has created with the 14 mm Fire Agate and resin rose.
Happy beading Y'all,
Therese
Therese, I would wear that first one in a heartbeat! Simple stringing at its finest! You really blended these colors so well. It is definitely reminiscent of Fall. And the earrings are great~I love that style. And the romance of the rose...you nailed it. Keeping it red and white keeps it romantic and sets a mood...a tingly mood :-) We both went spiral! LOL
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your necklaces and the earrings, Therese! The first necklace just says Fall. And, the rope for the rose is so perfect. I love the decorative areas you added. Oh, and I think your wire work looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh my! The colors in that first necklace are so perfect for Autumn! I love it! And, your earrings are fantastic!!! But...that rope you made for the chain - the embellishments on each side - it is perfection! Always in awe of your designs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beaded strand. So many fall tones. I love they way you have hung the beads on the earrings. Gorgeous! These agate beads have amazing color. The rose necklace is stunning. It would be perfect to wear for Christmas or Valentine's Day too!
ReplyDeleteI think your fingers bead while you sleep! Love the pieces you and Christine have created!!
ReplyDeleteLove the warm colors in that first piece Therese! the yellow agates, carnelian and copper are the perfect match to your fire agates! LOVE it. and I really like how you did your wire work in those earrings - I had to enlarge the picture to study how you did that?! ha! very cool. The last one is wonderful ... it reminds me of the piece I made with a white/ red lampwork bead Christine gifted me! I used russian spiral and coral reds for a pop of color! really wonderful bead weaving on this piece Therese, but you always do the most amazing work!
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup !
ReplyDeleteI just love these posts.
ReplyDeleteAll of the pieces turned out well but I am particularly taken by the earrings. Also, I know just how you feel deciding what stitch to use once you know what you want to accomplish.
I just love the first piece! Those are so my colors and it can go with some many things.
ReplyDeleteThese are some gorgeous pieces!!!! I just love this blog segment you two have going!!
