Hey Y'all,
I'm back after taking a year off. 2016 was a year of changes and readjusting, but all is well now and I am back.
I follow Lori Anderson on Facebook as well as in the blogs, but I must confess I am on Facebook more than on the blogs, I saw that she decided to do another BSBP and the sign up was going to be on January 28th. I said to myself, this is just the thing to get me back to my blog, so I signed up.
This time around Lori made it about hoarded beads and that when making up our boxes for our partner we were to include a hoarded bead or beads and these are the must use items in our creations.
Lori partnered me with Babette Cox out of Rowlett, TX this is Babette's first BSBP.
I forgot to take a before picture of what I sent to Babette, but she was kind enough to send me the pictures of what I sent to her.
The hoarded beads are the turquoise nuggets, the coral, the teal hashi beads, and the clasp these are treasured beads, because they belonged to a dear friend of hers that has passed away. The lampworked bead was made by Babette just for me.
Babette is like so many of us creative people. She does lampworking, stamping, PMC, and much more.
The BSBP reveal is March 25, 2017, so come on back and see what I created with my beads.
Happy beading Y'all,
Therese

The hoarded items I sent, well to be honest they are all hoarded items, are a lampworked glass focal bead by Juli Cannon of Studio Juls and a brass and copper clasp handmade by Melinda Orr of ORRTEC. I also included a cabochon that I made and wire wrapped. The rest of the beads are from my stash of beads. I put them all into the box I had made for a challenge by Janet Bocciardi in October 2014.
Here is what Babette sent to me.
Babette made the card she sent.

Oh, my gosh, what an amazing gift Babette gave you -- both her own lampwork and beads from her late friend. I know you'll make something that showcases both their beauty and their meaning.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and I were motivated the same way by this BSBP to get active again in blogging. Good to see you here!
I've missed you this past year. Glad to hear you are doing well. Looks like you sent your partner a beautiful array of options. And, how sweet that she sent you some sentimental beads. I'm sure she was hoarding those because it was too hard to use them. (Of course, I'm just guessing here, but that's how I would feel about them.) That focal she made for you is something special for sure. I can't wait to see what the two of you do with these goodies. So glad to see you back again! :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what you create Therese! those are some gorgeous colors to work with
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in your box! Looks like some fun for you both. Good to hear from you. Maybe your post will get me back to blogging. This last year has been drainingenerated, but maybe bead power will give us a nice respite.
ReplyDeleteRed (or orange) and turquoise is one of my absolute favorite color combinations ~ so I am quite eager to see what you make! And I am excited to see you blogging :-)
ReplyDeleteWow Therese! Those are some very special beads you received!! So glad to see you are joining the party again and great to see you back in the blogosphere too! :)
