Hi Y'all,
First I would like to say thank you to all of you that left comments on last two week's of Focusing on Life blog posts. I appreciate all of your comments and I apologize to you for not responding back. I will try to do better in the future.
It is week four of Focusing on Life 52 photos created by Sally Russick of The Studio Sublime blog. This weeks prompt is Create Art. Well I went a route away from jewelry making although I kept the Bling factor. I recently bought a hot fix crystal tool and some hot fix crystals to Bling up some shoes for a friend of mine, but she still has not decided on one of the hundred or so pairs of shoes that she owns to Bling. So I decided to use some of the crystals I bought to Bling up my Kindle cover.
First I drew a flower on the cover, then I started adhering the crystals.
When I got around to the fifth petal I ran out of the pink crystals. I will be going back to Michael's this weekend and getting more hot fix crystals to finish my flower. I had fun using the hot fix tool and will be Bling up a lot more items in the future. I used pic monkey to edit my photos this week. My cover is the pink color in the first photo, not the orange in the second photo.
Please go on over to Sally's blog to see what every one else has created in week four of Focusing on Life 52 photos challenge.
Happy beading Y'all,
Therese
Looking great Therese
ReplyDeleteOh...this is a stellar idea indeed! I love this! There are several kindles and the like floating around my house and this is the perfect "identifier"! My mind is now racing with all of the things I can hotfix to spruce up around here! Great job!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Therese. I have a friend who hotfixes tiny stones to golf ball markers - and they are adorable, too. Almost makes me want to golf! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Therese. I would never have thought about hotfix.....makes the creative juices flow. And I don't think with as many of us as are participating in this challenge you would need to respond to everyone. For me, just jumping around and looking is the most fun!
ReplyDeletewho doesn't need a little bling in their life? and now every time you pull out the kindle it will be right there! great idea:)
ReplyDeleteToo fun! I've never played with hot fix for fear I wouldn't stop once I began, but what a fun way to personalize your Kindle! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Therese! Everyone loves a sparkly flower.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of white satin wedding heels sitting on my bead table begging to be beaded, so I'd love to watch your progress on the shoe when you get started. :)
Oh Therese, this is cool! Love the blingy art - it's so pretty. I've never tried this but it looks like it would be a ton of fun. I'm not sure the hubby and son would watch a blinged out t.v. but,...oh wait,..maybe that would be a good thing!! LOL!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea!
ReplyDelete(I'm #41 this week)
Hey, pretty cool, happy continued blinging!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lot of fun!! I like the sweet flower, and of course the bling!!!
ReplyDeleteI was fighting the urge to count up the crystals lol geez they must not give you much in a pack. I hate to run out of anything mid-project as I find -for me- this drastically increases my "never got back to that" syndrome. As the piles of projects around my home can attest. This is looking very fun
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a lot of fun! Who doesn't like a little bling? Adds a personal touch to a cover too ! Come to think of it, I think I bought a Hot fix tool so I could bling things with my grand daughters when they were in the sparkly stage. Wonder where it is....?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! So pretty and fun and best of all OOAK:)
ReplyDeleteAn excellent idea, Therese, your cover is gorgeous and so is your interpretation of art week :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI thing every Kindle cover should be blinged! What a fun way to create art this week.
ReplyDeleteTherese, that is such a fabulous idea. Kindle covers (and ipad covers) are so drab and a little bling is perfect to spice them up. It's beautiful now and I can't wait to see when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like fun to me.
ReplyDeleteOh why did you have to tell me about this Therese?!?!?!?! I already have several items that I've now tagged as "need to add crystals to." Great idea and beautiful results!
ReplyDeleteLOL Therese, even when there is no jewelry in sight, there is always something to "Bling up". Great idea!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it! I have the very same cover and never really thought to personalize it in that way. Neat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to personalize your cover. I've got a similar iPad cover. . . hmmmmm!! Thanks for the ideas. I can't wait to see this when you've got it done, but it's such a sparkly start already!
ReplyDeleteTherese, I love that you still kept the bling!! Your flower is so pretty and now you got my wheels turning, my nook cover is just screaming for some bling!!
ReplyDeleteHey there, I just wanted tо sее
