She made/She made March Reveal

Hi Y'all,

Wow can you believe it is almost the end of March!  Where is the time going? I almost did not get my pieces done in time for mine and Christine's She Made/She Made challenge, but I did get them done just in time to do this post.
It was Christine's turn to choice what we would create with this month. She chose the bronze components created by Lesley Watts, and the 8 mm black lava rock round bead from the stash that I gifted to her.

borrowed from Christine's blog

I am so looking forward to seeing what marvels Christine has created using the chosen components and beads.
Here is what I made with the almost same components and beads.

This necklace I chose to pair the lava rock beads with some glass beads made by Juli Cannon of Studio Juls. I used some silver plated wire to wire wrap the beads into a chain and then used some white rat tail ribbon and a silver plated heart clasp to finish off the necklace.  This necklace went to my friend Cyn for her birthday gift, she is a big Alabama Football fan.

My next piece is a bracelet I made with the lava rock beads and some serrated daggers  that my son Ryan brought back from York Beads when he went on a trip to New York, thank you Son!  I used size 8 bronze seed beads as spacers between the lava rock beads and size 11 bronze as spacers between the daggers. From the clasp I hung one of Lesley's bronze hearts.  The daggers flop around when you wear the bracelet.

I made these earrings with two of Lesley's bronze connector components and two of the lava rock beads. I also used 3mm cobalt blue crystals and size 8 bronze seed beads strung on to copper wire and hung from copper ear wires.

April will be my pick and I will reveal the pick in a few days.  Thank you for stopping in to see what I created, now hop on over to Christine's blog to see what she has created.  I know you will not be disappointed that you did.

Happy beading Y'all,
Therese

  1. Therese, these are fantastic! I didn't know you were gifted in wire as well as weaving. The Alabama Football necklace is fun and whimsical and beautiful. Th bracelet is really cool, especially with the movement of the daggers and that your son bought you beads :-) And those earrings~wow~love the color combo! That pop of blue is the prefect touch.
Thanks for another great challenge, Therese :-D

  10. Beautiful work Therese! I love the red and white centerpiece of the necklace. It is so happy. I love how you have incorporated the lava stone into each piece. Those beads have always been a favorite of mine since they have the most amazing texture.

  11. Well, of course the necklace had to go to a Tide fan -- it's perfect! And the wirework makes it feel light and fun enough that it won't get in the way when cheering. And I love the blue/black/bronze color combination on the other pieces. What a good son you have!
