I Heart Macro - My Sister's Yard

It's Sunday again and that means another I Heart Macro Sunday.  I was at my Sister's house this weekend and this morning I went out and walked around her yard and these are the pictures I took.

Isn't this cool looking?  Can you guess what it is?  I'm not going to tell you just yet, I want you to ponder on it for a little while.

I thought that this was a very interesting flower pod and so I just had to shoot it.

My sister has this huge Gardenia bush outside of her front door and it is full of blooms that smell so nice.
I love this shot of the beautiful blue sky! "Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue"

I had to play so I chose sepia tone for this one.

Okay have you guessed what the first photo is?  Okay, okay I'll tell you!  It is a hickory log with moss growing on it.  To me this photo looks like a rock cliff with juniper bushes growing on it.

I hope that you enjoyed looking at my shots as much as I enjoyed taking them.  If you would like to view more I Heart Macro shots head on over to Lori's Studio Waterstone blog and check out what others are I Heart Macroing!

Happy beading Y'all
Therese

  5. I had a feeling that first picture was some kind of bark, but I'll admit that when I first saw it I thought it was a rock wall of some kind.

OH, Gardenias!! That's my favorite smelling flower. They're so yummy!! I can smell your sister's now!

  6. I thought it was a rock wall too! Great photo! Gardenias smell heavenly. I was in the hospital once for a month and a friend sent me gardenias. The nurses asked me to keep my door open so they could smell them when they walked by!

  7. Ok, so you have induced a case of garden envy here! Up here in CT, our gardens are pulling their fall coats on, and while it's usually lovely, this weekend has been a total washout and I'm dying for some summer sun and gardens again! What lovely shots! (and I got the first right, surprise, surprise!)

  10. I did guess moss for first pic, which is amazing since I haven't seen moss in forever. And the gardenias are gorgeous. Really great pictures.

  11. I love these pictures! That first one sure does look like a rock. Hard to believe it's a log! And the second one -- what IS that? What kind of flower has a pod like that? Thanks for the cool pix!
