The Creative Continuum of Seven Artist May Challenge - Tutti Fruity

Hi Y'all,

Let me give you a brief history of the CC7A.  It was started by Alicia of All Pretty Things blog.  In 2014 she asked seven artist, me being one of the seven, if we would be interested in doing a monthly challenge for 7 months, where each of us would pick a theme and make up a packet of beads and such and send out to each of the participants.  This year Alicia asked us to pick a photo and make a color palette from the photo.

The month of May is my month and I chose the above photo of my Mom's Confetti Lantana plant.  Lantana is in full bloom in May through September in Alabama it is a very hardy plant and one of my favorites.  I love the colors in the Confetti Lantana, this plant makes me smile.

Here is what I created from my color palette.

This bracelet is made using spiral rope section divided by 8 mm fern green Swarovski bicone crystals
and silver daisy spacers.

This is Skinny Super Duo Band designed by Deborah Roberti of http://www.aroundthebeadingtable.com.  I really like the green picasso Czechmate tiles.

This is a Herringbone Stitch done with Super Duos.  I learned this stitch from watching a You Tube video from Potomac Bead Store Super Duo Herringbone Knit stitch.  I was looking through a bag of buttons for a closure to this bracelet and found this orange and white button it was the perfect match to the orange 11/0 seed beads.

Thank you for stopping by I hope you liked what you saw, please leave a comment I love hearing from you.  Thank you again Alicia.

Now please go and visit my fellow CC7A members to see what they created from the Tutti Fruity color palette.

  1. Love them all - I always love your bead weaving! That button is perfect... I loved being inspired by your picture; you're right the flower makes me smile! Now I feel like picking up seed beads and making something (no, I will go to bed, it's almost 2 AM in my timezone :) ). Thanks for being such a lovely host this month.

  2. I always love stopping here to see your beadwork Therese - and today did not disappoint! All three of these bracelets are so fun, festive and celebrate spring (at long last!). That last one is such a great pattern. I've had that tutorial earmarked for awhile to try .... I think I'm going to have to finally give that a go! Thanks for hosting this month!

  3. I just LOVE your choice of colors! I love lantana because of the beautifully bright color combinations and I love the one you chose! Your bracelets are wonderful! They really use all the colors in the lantana. Beautiful and summery, Therese!

  4. Always SO amazed with your beady wizardry, Therese! That 3rd design is especially awesome... I fell in love with Super Duos last year because of this group. SOME DAY I am going to give this bead style a go :) Thanks for the wonderful inspiration photo!

  6. Great job Therese. The fun, colorful photo that you pick was perfect for May. Your three bracelet designs echo the colors that you chose to a T. I like the first one best because I prefer thin bracelets. I do like working with super duo's though.

  7. The picture and color palate you choose are great. All of your pieces are gorgeous, but that first one really captures the essence of tutti-fruity for me. It looks good enough to eat!

  8. This is a Tutti Fruitti Bracelet Series you have started and I for one am shouting "MORE! MORE! MORE!" Your colors in all of them are so delicious and that herringbone pattern and button are so incredibly cool!
That Latana should be in every yard ~ blooming 4 months is a lot of constant happy color :-)
Thanks for providing the inspiration this month, Therese!

  9. What beautiful bracelets you made inspired by your mom's garden! Each bracelet is such a different mood, but each one looks like a little slice of "happy" to wear. I haven't spotted any lantanas around here yet (the tulips just faded, so we're a little behind Alabama in flowers!), but when I do I'll think of you!

  11. Therese, thank you so much for choosing such a fun color palette!! The earrings I made would go very nicely with the first bracelet!! But I'm is love with the superduo herringbone bracelet! My mind is telling me that green and orange aren't suppose to go together but the way they are used in that bracelet makes the design as a whole SUPERB!!
