Hello Y'all,
Wow April has been a busy month for me as far as beading goes. Beading Babes had three pieces to do, of course one does not have to do all the projects presented to us by Karyn White of Releases by Rufydoof and the master mind behind the Beading Babes. Karyn has always given us the choice to do all or some of the projects. Since I like to push myself I like to do all the projects.
First project I did was The Paisley Drop Earrings pattern designed by Jane Lock
Wow April has been a busy month for me as far as beading goes. Beading Babes had three pieces to do, of course one does not have to do all the projects presented to us by Karyn White of Releases by Rufydoof and the master mind behind the Beading Babes. Karyn has always given us the choice to do all or some of the projects. Since I like to push myself I like to do all the projects.
First project I did was The Paisley Drop Earrings pattern designed by Jane Lock
This is a very easy and fast pattern I used size 11 steel blue and black Delicas, size 15 silver seed beads and Cobalt blue AB 4mm and 6 mm bicones.
This pair of earrings I used black and light blue size ll Delicas, size 15 silver seed beads and 4mm and 6 mm Cobalt blue bicones. This project is located in the August/September 2010 issue of Beadwork magazine.
Second project Ruffled Chain Bracelet pattern design by Laina Goodman
This is a beautiful and a moderately easy pattern to do, but it is a pattern that one does have to have a knowledge of peyote and herringbone stitches. This pattern used size 15 seed beads, 3mm bicone crystals, and 8 mm focal beads. I used Toho bronze size 15 seed beads, Toho light blue AB size 15 seed beads, size 11 pink seed beads, Swarosky olive green and Indian pink 3mm bicones crystals, and 8 mm Czech pink melon beads. The clasp is a 15 mm green Czech glass button. This pattern is in the Febrary/March 2011 Beadwork magazine.
Third project Trellis Necklace pattern design by Nancy Dale of NEDbeads esty shop.
This pattern was donated to the Beading Babes by Nancy although this was an other moderately easy pattern it was time consuming. It is helpful that one has a working knowledge of RAW (right angle weave) and netting stitches. I used cream size 11 seed beads (inside trellis), pink AB size 11 seed beads(flower beads), sizes 11 and 15 bronze seed beads(spacer beads below round crystal), gold lined aqua blue size 15 seed beads(trellis beads) lavender 8 mm round and 3mm bicone Czech glass beads, the toggle clasp is a bronze PMC creation by Lesley Watt of THEAtoo etsy shop.
Thank you Karyn for bring these projects to us. These projects push me to do something I would not have done on my own. These projects have also helped improve my beading skills. Our members are growing and that is wonderful, I enjoy seeing what everyone creates using the patterns presented to us. If you are interested in joining the Beading Babes just click on the Beading Babes badge in my side bar and read all about the group. I am looking forward to project 5, Karyn says she has something great up her sleeve for us. Humm I wonder what she is up to?
I will be annoucing my first challenge so keep a look out for it on May 7th. It is something different from any of the challenges I have seen in the past year that I have been blogging.
Happy beading Y'all,
Therese
