Wrapped, Stacked, and Layered Bracelet Challenge - Hosted by Tracy Statler


When I saw the blog post about this challenge I jumped right in.  I enjoy making bracelets more than anything else.  So since there is a whole heap of participants in this challenge blog hop I will make this post a short one.
My co-worker Keisha  was kind enough to  model  my bracelets.



I have really been into tying square knots lately and all of these were fun and quick to make.  I used leather, hemp, and waxed cotton to tie the knots and  the beads are ceramic, glass,  lamp worked glass by Susan Kennedy of suebeads (the third bracelet from the bottom) and Rosemarie of SpawnOfFlame beads (the forth bracelet from the bottom), and bling balls.  I did not use a square knot slide clasp, instead I used lobster claw clasps.

    OH what a beautiful stack of bracelets! I LOVE the look of knotting, and how you chose different elements for each piece. Very time consuming, I imagine...but the effect is totally stunning. I've had to go back and look at each one closely, I just love them all.

    Your bracelets look so lovely stacked on top of one another. I've really got to work on my square knot skills. I used to make hemp bracelets all the time when I first started out, but it's been years since I've attempted them. Yours are so pristine-looking. I don't think mine ever looked that classy!

    I really like the square knot look. I've got to try that. I used to do macrame a hundred years ago, so I should be able to pull it off. ;)

    Those bracelets are great Therese! I love that technique but as I have been wrist challenged up to now I haven't tried that. I will have to get some hemp and see what will come of it! Thanks for sharing your stack!

    Your stacks turned out beautiful Therese! I have hemp and linen cord but can't seem to get the knots squared up just right. But I do love the bright colors you came up with - great job!

    Love how you used different types of cords for the knotting. I've started incorporating knotting into my designs and find it extremely relaxing and rewarding. Lovely, perfect stack of creative bracelets :0)

    I remember making bracelets like these back in the 70s when macrame was in vogue. I remember using red, white, and blue pony beads and yarn. Thanks for sparking a memory and your stacks are wonderful!
